Coaching is A safe space to reconnect and heal
Healing isn’t about doing more, it’s about having a safe place to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover yourself.
Coaching with me is a gentle, collaborative process that helps you understand your patterns, regulate your nervous system, and rebuild trust with yourself, one step at a time.
This space is for you if…
You often feel stuck in survival mode — always alert, always “on.”
You question yourself or feel guilty for having needs.
You’re tired of people-pleasing, overthinking, and trying to be “enough.”
You long to feel calm, grounded, and safe in your own body.
You’re ready to experience gentleness instead of pressure and begin living with more peace and confidence.
You are tired of triggers and overwhelm taking over your whole day.
What Our Work Looks Like
Our sessions are calm, relational, and guided by what feels safe for you in the moment. We may explore body awareness, grounding exercises, nervous-system regulation, parts work and compassionate reflection.
Rather than reliving the past, we focus on helping your body feel safe now so that healing can naturally unfold.
This process is about building connection with yourself, your body, and your inner sense of safety, one gentle step at a time. We truly thrive and recover when we also feel supported compassionately and in judgement free spaces where all parts of who we are can have a voice and space to be seen and heard.
Here is the simple process to getting started
-

Step 1: Start Here-Schedule a Get-to-know-you Call
This is a free 20-minute conversation where we can meet.
You’ll have space to share what’s been coming up for you, ask questions, and see if coaching feels like the right fit.
There’s no pressure or expectation, just an open, safe space to explore what support might look like for you. -

Step 2: Create Your Healing Plan
If we decide to move forward, we’ll talk about what kind of support feels best for you, weekly or biweekly sessions, and the areas you’d like to focus on first. Together, we’ll build a foundation and establish a relationship that creates the environment and pace that fits your needs.
-

Step 3: Begin Your Healing Journey
We’ll meet regularly for 60-minute sessions (online), creating a steady rhythm of care and growth. Each session offers space to listen to your body, explore what’s arising, and build practical tools for regulation, self-trust, and connection. Over time, you’ll begin to feel more grounded, confident, and at home in yourself.
Through our work together, you’ll learn to...
Understand yourself with compassion — see how your reactions, emotions, and patterns make sense based on what you’ve been through.
Let go of shame — begin to see that there’s nothing “wrong” with you; your body and mind have just been protecting you.
Calm your body and mind — learn simple ways to come back to a sense of safety when you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or shut down.
Handle big emotions with care — know what to do when emotions feel too heavy, and give yourself space to feel without judgment.
Reconnect with your true self — meet and care for the parts of you that have been hiding, hurting, or trying to keep you safe.
Feel more present in your body — gently tune into your body’s signals and use grounding tools to feel steady and supported.
Build healthier relationships — set boundaries without guilt and learn to show up in relationships with confidence and calm.
Show yourself kindness — practice self-compassion, rest, and care that feels nourishing, not performative.
Move through life with more ease — have tools to navigate stress, conflict, and everyday challenges without losing yourself.

Client love- See what my clients have to say about working with me

"Working with Melissa was truly one of the best decisions I have made. It was hard, but the freedom she helped me walk into and the confidence she helped me build was life changing. She gently led me into spaces I was nervous to go into, while graciously guiding me and allowing me to take things at my own pace. She made me feel comfortable from the beginning and helped me to open up to her about some of my deeper stories and tender places. One thing I loved most was how caring and supported I felt throughout the entire experience. She never made me feel silly for my feelings and she was quick to help guide me through what my body was feeling and experiencing throughout our conversations. I definitely have become more self-aware and in tune with my body's responses to trauma. Working with Melissa has helped me to feel more capable of walking through hard things and allowing myself to feel what I need to in order to heal. She definitely created a safe place for me & I highly recommend her."

"Melissa was able to create space for me without me feeling judged or weird. I felt listened to, heard, and understood. I appreciated being able to process honestly about my faith without feeling bypassed or dismissed. I really felt like her own personal experience with trauma allowed her to be more empathetic and understanding to me. She asked me questions that helped me to reconnect back to myself and my needs. I was able to identify some areas I wanted to make changes in and start taking steps towards those changes. I feel less stuck, and more able to accept myself as a result of my time with her. I highly recommend working with her.”

“Melissa offered a safe, compassionate space for me to do deep healing work. She has a gentle approach to working with heavy things. She checked in during the process to see if we were moving at the right speed or needed to slow down. She was great at reminding me to come out of my thoughts and focus first on my body sensations and emotions, since thoughts are based on the interpretation of those things. If you want someone who has knowledge and understanding to walk with you on your healing journey, Melissa is that person.”

Principles that guide my work
-
Creating an environment that feels safe is absolutely essential in any kind of healing work, especially Trauma. When our bodies feel safe and can learn to relax that is where healing can truly begin. Ways that I create safety in sessions are:
Being attuned and attentive, listening, asking clarifying questions, showing empathy, and compassion. I am sensitive with material shared as to not re-traumatize my clients. I am making sure that everything about our time together feels comfortable to you. If there is anything about our time that makes you feel unsafe or is not working we will change it to suit your preferences.
-
Having the sense that some cares, shows concern for us without judgement is so important. Compassionate care sees the heart of the person in front of them with gentleness and kindness. I don’t make assumptions about you or the things you share. I allow curiosity to guide me. I will hold compassionate space for all parts of your story.
-
I help empower my clients by collaborating with them. I do not try to fix things, over advice give, or tell them what to do. But rather I help them notice the patterns, help them realize their own answers and help them find new resources for their journey. One of our greatest tools for growth is regaining where our locus of control is, and that is over ourselves.
My Coaching Philosophy
I am working from the standpoint as a fellow human who doesn’t have it all together, who still struggles herself. I see a Therapist regularly and believe in teaching and sharing things that I practice personally, as I am doing the work of healing in my own life. I believe that learning and growing from our pain is what helps move us towards resiliency. Making sense of our stories, in a safe and supportive way is what helps us heal and truly live the lives we want to live.
I believe that people have more answers and wisdom for their life than they realize. The client is the expert on them. My job as the coach is to help guide each person to find the capacity within to learn to listen to that inner voice and the God-given wisdom placed inside them. I believe that most change starts internally and naturally makes it way out into our behaviors, habits, and actions.
Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma-Informed Care
What is Trauma-Informed Care?
It is compassionate care that is focused on creating a safe, secure, supportive relationship and environment for people based on trust, transparency, collaboration, choice and empowerment.
It seeks to ask, “What do you need to feel safe? What I can I do to help you feel more comfortable?” It takes into considerations peoples backgrounds, cultures, beliefs and adversities. It seeks to do no further harm. It is not behavior focused, nor uses “labels”. It seeks to help individuals understand that they are not broken or defective, but to make sense of the way their brains and bodies are adapting to what’s happened to them.
Trauma-informed care is helping people to live the lives they want to live, while building skills for life and resilience.
