women's healing group

LEARN IT → EXPERIENCE IT → LIVE IT

Sometimes we don't need more information about healing. We need safe places to practice a different way of being. Growth happens differently when we don't have to do it alone.

These 6-week groups are designed for women who are ready to strengthen their mental and emotional health in a supportive, and trauma-informed environment.

We rotate through different resources that cover a variety of topics designed to support emotional wellness and personal growth.

It’s perfect for you if you’re longing for a nurturing space where you don’t have to perform, rush, or be anything other than yourself.

What WOmen had to say about our groups

“This is a space intentionally designed to hold and support you as you move through your journey of restoration. From the start, I felt a sense of permission that allowed me to slow down and show up as I am. I leave each session feeling more grounded and connected to myself. I’m truly grateful for this space and would recommend it to anyone seeking meaningful restoration by "trying softer".”

— Group Participant

“Being with this group of women showed me that there is safety and importance in just showing up and being present rather than a focus of preparedness and achievement. I have been able to notice and practice recognizing my emotions and nervous system regulation.”

— Group Participant

“I noticed that I was able to take some of the grounding practices with me in a way that I haven't been doing before. I find myself thinking about my time with the group and I feel encouraged.”

Meet Your Facilitator’s

Heather Berg

Trauma-Informed Coach| IFS Practitioner | Clinical Mental Health Counseling Candidate

Heather Berg is a trauma-informed coach and graduate-level mental health counselor in training who walks alongside women and couples healing from betrayal trauma, complex PTSD, religious trauma, and stuck relational patterns. Her work is rooted in the Created To Move philosophy and the same invitation found in Try Softer: that real change doesn’t come from pushing harder, but from learning how to feel safer, more compassionate toward yourself, and more connected to what’s true inside.

Heather integrates IFS (parts work), somatic and polyvagal-informed practices, and the Enneagram as gentle tools for awareness and sustainable growth. Married for nearly 30 years and a mom to three young adult sons (including twins), she brings both lived experience and advanced training—especially in betrayal trauma and relationship repair—creating spaces where people don’t feel rushed, fixed, or judged, but supported in taking their next right step toward healing and wholeness.

Melissa Short

Melissa Short is a Trauma & Nervous System Coach and Certified Trauma Support Specialist who supports women healing from complex trauma (C-PTSD), attachment wounds, religious trauma, and painful relationship patterns.

Through a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, Melissa integrates IFS (parts work), somatic and nervous system regulation practices, and mindfulness to help women cultivate greater internal safety, clarity, self-trust, and connection with themselves.

Married for 15 years and a mom to one son, Melissa understands the importance of creating space for healing that feels gentle, grounded, and sustainable. Her work is centered on helping women feel deeply seen and supported while giving them practical tools to move forward without pressure, perfection, or the need to rush the process.

Healing happens one gentle step at a time—and you don’t have to take those steps alone.

Our Story

From Friends to Partners

Heather and I first met in a group, and over time, our friendship became a meaningful source of support as we each walked through our own healing and professional training.

Through many conversations, we began to recognize something we both deeply felt: there are not enough spaces where women can come exactly as they are while they are healing.

Spaces where there is no pressure to have it all figured out.
No spiritual or emotional bypassing.
No need to minimize the pain, put on a brave face, or perform healing for anyone else.

We wanted a place where women could be honest about what they were carrying and still feel welcomed, supported, and understood—a space where healing could unfold gently, at its own pace, in the presence of safe and compassionate community.

And we realized that the kind of space we were longing for was difficult to find.

So we decided to create it.

That desire became the beginning of our groups: the kind of supportive space we both wished we had along the way. A place to show up authentically, receive support, build meaningful connection, and take the next step in healing without pressure, perfection, or having to pretend you’re okay.
